CD Dodd Supporting Creativity and Learning in Alice Springs Schools
By AYAWP

CD Dodd is helping to create brighter futures for young people by supporting access to creative learning experiences for students across the Alice Springs region.
Through their generous sponsorship of AYAWP, CD Dodd enabled acclaimed creators Jules and Pierre-Jacques Ober to visit five local schools in May 2026, sharing their passion for storytelling, creativity and imagination with students and teachers.
The school tour reached students at Sadadeen Primary School, Living Waters Lutheran School, Ross Park Primary School, Larapinta Primary School and Acacia Hills School, providing young people with the opportunity to explore the creative process behind writing, illustration and visual storytelling.
CD Dodd's support helped bring storytelling to life in classrooms, giving students the chance to discover how ideas become stories and how creativity can be expressed through words, images and hands-on activities.
Students explored character development, visual storytelling techniques and the relationship between writing and illustration, while participating in activities inspired by Jules and Pierre-Jacques' books. From creating miniature rock pool worlds inspired by Rockpooling with Pup, to exploring characters, themes and storytelling techniques from works including The Steadfast Tin Soldier in the Land of the Yokai, Tarni's Chance and Step It Up, students were encouraged to use their imagination and see themselves as storytellers and creators.
The tour also provided valuable inspiration for teachers, with many identifying ways to incorporate creative storytelling approaches into future classroom activities. By supporting initiatives that bring creativity, education and community connection together, CD Dodd is helping empower young people to build confidence, express their ideas and develop the skills needed to shape their futures.
