At AYAWP, we know that everyone is creative. We want to help young people express themselves, be heard and discover their creativity through art and writing.
That's why we partner with schools, communities, artists, authors and volunteers to inspire the next generation of creative thinkers and storytellers particularly in regional and remote Australia.
Every young person has a story to tell, and every creative voice deserves the chance to be heard and celebrated.

By partnering with schools, we deliver face to face workshops led by authors and artists that ignite creativity and strengthen young people's confidence and voice.
Creative Workshops
The Australian Young Artists & Writers Program's Workshops bring creativity, opportunity and inspiration directly to children in remote and regional communities across Australia. We send artists and creative mentors into schools building on the school program, providing students with the opportunity to explore their imagination, develop new skills, and share their unique stories. These workshops are designed to demonstrate the confidence, connection and joy that comes from creative expression.
Celebrating Young Creative Voices
The Australian Young Artists & Writers Program Awards Night is a celebration of imagination, talent and the creative achievements of young Australians. Bringing together students, families, educators and leading artists, the event recognises the incredible artwork and writing produced by children from across the country.
The evening provides young people with the opportunity to showcase their work, receive recognition for their achievements and celebrate their unique voices in a professional and inspiring environment. Through this celebration, we honour the importance of creativity and encourage the next generation of artists and storytellers to continue exploring their potential.
Our Magazine
Distributed nationwide and available online, our magazine is dedicated to championing the literary and artistic talents of young Australians. Our mission is to give children a platform where their creativity is truly valued. By seeing their stories, poems, and artwork published, young people gain the confidence and encouragement they need to keep exploring the arts and developing their unique skills.
